ABOUT

I am Kelsie. Photographer, artist, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Having been a bride myself I know the deep importance of marriage and what a wedding day signifies. It’s the celebration and joy of marrying your best friend, yet it’s also the importance of the little details and the warmth of being surrounded by family and friends.

I am inspired by my surroundings and the travels I have been privileged to take. The Italian tones of buildings, the rocky coast of Maine, and the romantic air of Paris just name a few of my inspirations. I want to create images that feel like you and have fun while doing it. Maybe it’s jet setting to the coast to run around and take photos or finding your favorite local spot while taking it easy with a cup of chai tea. Having fun and celebrating you together as a couple is what I’m about.

A few more details about me? I love dressing monochromatic and watching You’ve Got Mail. Also a big fan of a good honey latte and dreaming of re-arranging my living room a million times over. I grew up in Minnesota but somehow found myself in the south serving Charlotte and beyond.

a few things of joy

AKA my faves.

  • This one is tough. It’s a close tie between Edinburgh (Scotland) and NYC.

  • Ed Sheeran. Fun fact, my husband and I danced to ‘Perfect” for our first dance. 💛

  • Probably scrolling Pinterest and pinning pretty pins and recipes I will never make.

  • Natural and bright with a film influence. Photojournalism has inspired a lot of my work and how I photograph a wedding. Natural and photographing the real and the fun.

  • Visiting new cities and photographing my experiences there. 12+ countries and counting.

  • Princess Diana. Hands down.

Kelsie Johanna Photography began officially in 2014 when I photographed my first wedding. A sweet intimate backyard wedding. A friend of a friend asked if I’d do it, and I was hesitant. But I am forever thankful to that couple for trusting me to capture their day. Dozens of weddings later - here I am still photographing love stories.
